Brown, with darker scale margins; an incomplete yellow bar on middle of side; juveniles dark brown with blue streak or spot on most scales, blue spots and lines on head, and narrow blue margins on most fins. Size: attains a maximum length of 30 cm. Inhabits rocky shores. Depth: 1-10 m. Galapagos Islands and Malpelo, Ecuador to northern Chile. Attributes Abundance: Common. Cites: Not listed.
