Color silvery, greenish brown on upper back; dark lines following scale rows on back and sides; dorsal and caudal fins dusky, pectorals, pelvics and anal fin yellow; inner lining of gill cover intensely black. Size: grows to about 46.5 cm. Inhabits coastal waters. Depth: 1-35 m. Southern Baja and the Gulf of California to Peru, and Cocos. Attributes Abundance: Common. Cites: Not listed.
