Galapagos barnacle-blenny
Dorsal rays XXIII-XXV, 12-14, total dorsal elements 36-38; anal rays II, 24-26; pectoral rays 13 or 14 (usually 13); head spines well developed only on snout and infraorbital bones; top of head behind eyes with rough ridges, but weak spines sometimes present; a single unbranched or branched cirrus above eye.
Primarily reddish brown with about 10 white spots (decreasing in size posteriorly) along middle of side; a second row of somewhat diamond-shaped pale marks along base of dorsal fin; throat and chin with yellow spots; iris red.
Size: grows to 6 cm.
Habitat: dwells in empty barnacle shells on rocky reefs.
In 1-25 m depth; they are seldom seen in the open.
