Nape cirrus a triangular flap, nostril cirrus moderate (2-3X length of nostril tube), eye cirrus slender, 1/3-1/2 eye-diameter long; dorsal XIX-XX, 7-8; anal II, 17, in male 1st spine & penis very short, as long as 2nd spine; no ridge or fold along anal fin base; pectoral 12-14 rays; 3rd pelvic spine bound to 2nd for 2/3 its length; lateral line scales 35-36; belly entirely scaled; straight part of lateral line consisting of tubes.
Body dusky, with 6 bars, last 2 in form of Y, 1st 5 under spiny dorsal, last under soft dorsal; dorsal pale, with body-bar extensions on its base; no dark spot on dorsal between 1st 2 spines; tail & anal pale.
Size: 2.4 cm.
Habitat: rocky areas.
Depth: 0-15 m?.
Tres Marias Islands (Mexico).
