Head very bony, with numerous spines; lateral line with tubes on scales; pectoral fin 17-19 rays, all unbranched; head large, with low depressed spines, without depression on top; eye large (~31% of head length); snout short, Bright red; belly pink; body, head and fins spotted and blotched with olive brown, those on head smaller.

Size: 8 cm.

Habitat: sandy and rocky bottoms.

Depth: 50-120 m?.

Galapagos and Cocos.
