Revillagigedos barnacle-blenny
Top of head behind eyes covered with short spines, inner row between eyes on a bony ridge; spines on edge of and under eye, and on snout; 1 pair of deeply branched to unbranched cirri over eyes; 2 rows of well developed teeth on roof of mouth; dorsal XXIII-XXV, 12-14; anal II, 24-27; pectoral 13 rays.
Color variable; body often with series of brown blotches along midline, with 2 similar blotches on cheek; lower jaw yellow-orange at front, reddish purple at rear; small blue spots often on head & body; iris with orange or yellow inner ring; mating males black, except for orange lower jaw and spot on cheek.
Size: 4 cm.
Habitat: barnacles and worm tubes on rocky shores.
Depth: 0-10 m.
Endemic to the Revillagigedo Islands.
