"The second most common of our native lady beetles species is probably the Two-spotted Lady Beetle (Adalia bipunctata). Although both its common and scientific names refer to the common two-spotted form, this species is notoriously variable, and can have four spots, transverse markings, or even a black background colour. Fortunately, the vast majority of Ontario specimens are typical orange-red beetles with a black spot on each wing cover. There is only one North American species of Adalia. Length 3.5-5.5mm."
