Slender (depth ~18% of standard length) compressed; snout medium length (~3/4 eye diameter), pointed; top jaw long, reaching almost to end of gill cover, tip pointed; no large canine teeth membrane between gill covers not expanded at rear; third gill arch with rakers; 22-27 rakers on lower limb of first gill arch; dorsal fin origin in mid-body; anal fin base short, 16-19 rays, origin under ~center of dorsal fin; anus nearer tips of pelvic fins than to anal fin; pectorals short, not reaching pelvics.

Silver stripe along flank narrow, about 1/2 eye diameter.

Size: 7.5 cm.

Habitat: marine, coastal pelagic, apparently not in estuaries.

Depth: 0-10 m?.

Lower Baja and the lower half of the Gulf of California to Ecuador.
