Arcyria versicolor
Overview
Capillitium very slightly birefringent. Sporotheca pyriform, greenish yellow, yellow, ochraceous, olivaceous brown or dull red. Stalks short. Capillitium spinulose or spiny-reticulate, rarely with faint bars or half rings. Peridium margin irregular, hardly defined, persistent calyculus reticulate with smooth ridges or alveolar, or densely, coarsely warted, hardly or not plicate. Spores 9-11 µm diam., minutely spinulose. Plasmodium starting white then orange, coral, yellow. Sometimes nivicole.
