Top of head profile ~straight; top jaw not extendible; mouth ends under of eye; head relatively deep ~ 16-19% of standard length; first dorsal fin very small, origin behind origin of anal fin; 17-20 scales in front of dorsal fin; 8-9 transverse rows of scales; 2 scale rows along base of anal fin.

Back greenish, lateral silver stripe narrow (~1 scale wide), with blue upper margin.

Size: 13.5 cm.

Habitat: over sandy bottoms near reefs.

Depth: 0-10 m?.

Costa Rica to Ecuador.
