AZURINA
CHROMIS, DAMSELS
Body slender, fusiform, compressed; head pointed, upper and lower profiles similar; mouth at front, slightly oblique; bone under eye hidden by scales; dorsal and anal fins relatively low, dorsal with XII-XIV spines; tail fin strongly forked, without exposed short spines at its base; lateral line extends along top of tail base, almost to tail fin; 31-34 scales in lateral series; entirely scaled except for area in front of eye and around nostril.
A subtropical genus endemic to the tropical eastern Pacific, where it has two species, one each at the northern and southern limits of the region.
