Grey, darker on back and shading to white ventrally; distinctive white tips or margins on first dorsal, tail, and pectoral fins. Grows to 300 cm; size at birth 55-80 cm. Habitat: coastal-pelagic, inshore to offshore; common on outer reef slopes. Depth: 0-800 m, usually below ~20 m. Tropical Indo-Pacific; southern Baja and the Gulf of California to Ecuador, all the offshore islands. Attributes Abundance: Common. Cites: Not listed.
