Overview
"The Twice-stabbed Lady Beetle, C. stigma, is so aptly named one can almost see the blood dripping from the bright red marking on each of the contrasting black elytra. Twice Stabbed Lady Beetles are common on tree trunks and branches, where they feed on scale insects and other soft, slow-moving prey. This is not only Ontario's only Chilocoris, it is our only member of the subfamily Chilocorinae. Twice-stabbed Lady Beetles are similar in size (4-5mm) to the familiar red and black lady beetles in the subfamily Coccinellinae."
