Overview |
Sporocarps 0.7-2.0 mm tall. Hypothallus red-brown, discoid. Stalk c. 66% of the total height, hollow, black and opaque, except at the base, where it is red-brown by TL. Sporotheca spherical, 0.3-0.6 mm diam., red-brown. Peridium fugacious except for a red-brown cup around the stalk. Columella reaching to about the centre of the sporotheca, only slightly tapered and dividing at the top into the main capillitial branches. Capillitium brown, arising from the whole length of the columella, branches divided a few times, attenuate and ending free on the periphery, except at the base of the sporotheca where the capillitium is firmly connected by expanded ends to the peridial collar. Spore-mass red-brown. Spores pale lilac-brown, 7-8 µm diam., spinulose.
