Male overall dark brown with yellowish caudal fin, several narrow diagonal white lines across cheek and gill cover; females yellowish white, nearly translucent, with white and brown flecks on side and several brown bars on lower half of head. Size: grows to 4 cm. Inhabits mollusc tubes on rocky reefs. Depth: 1-5 m. Southern Baja California and the Gulf of California. Attributes Abundance: Common. Cites: Not listed.
