Overview
Sporocarps gregarious, erect, total height 1.5-2.5(-3) mm. Sporotheca globose, reddish purple, (0.3-)0.6-1.0(-1.2) mm diam. Stalk concolorous, furrowed, c. 65% of the total height. Hypothallus distinct. Peridial cup less than half the sporotheca, obscurely ribbed and sometimes concentrically plicate, the margin toothed, calcic granules notably large, dark maroon or purple, 2-3(-5)µm diam. Peridial net poorly differentiated, the meshes irregular, the nodes irregular and not thickened, the threads pale and broad with short, often numerous free ends. Spore-mass rose-purple. Spores pale or colourless, nearly smooth, verruculose and with an obscure and incomplete reticulation, 5-6.5(-7.5) µm diam. Plasmodium purple-red, becoming scarlet before fruiting, and staining the substratum strongly.
