Color silvery, blue-grey dorsally; pectoral fin axil dusky; inside of mouth yellow orange; inside operculum dark. Size: grows to 60 cm. Inhabits inshore areas, usually off sandy beaches. Depth: 1-101 m. Southern California to the Gulf of California. Attributes Abundance: Common. Cites: Not listed.
