Overview
Daceton armigerum is the only valid species in this genus. It is distributed throughout northern South America; Trinidad and Tabago, Brazil, Ecuador, Venezuela, Surinam, Peru, Guiana, and French Guiana. The workers have moderate, continuous polymorphism.

Natural history
This species is arboreal and nests in hollow trunks and branches of trees. They are visual predators.
