Click on image to enlarge. www.fao.org Copyright Michel Lamboeuf · 0 Decapterus muroadsi 2 thumbnails  •  slide show español Overview Main identification features mouth membrane white straight part lateral line has 5-15 scales scales + 32-42 spines c: yellow-green above, grey below top jaw: end edge straight pectoral 71-93 percent head length Elongate, slender, cylindrical; eye covered with adipose eyelid except for central slit; 1 finlet behind dorsal and anal fins; pectorals of adults 71-93% of head length; rear of top jaw straight above and with lower rear border angular; scales on curved part of lateral line not forming scutes; branches of lateral line extending onto nape only; scales between eyes to front border of pupil; lateral line scales: curved front part 62-66, straight rear part 5-15 scales + 32-42 scutes; dorsal VIII + I,28-32; anal II+I,24-27; membrane at front of top of roof of mouth white. Blue to olive above, yellowish silver below; small black spot on upper angle of operculum; flank with a yellow stripe bordered above and below by blue stripes; fins lime green; tail fin with dark lower lobe and greenish yellow upper lobe. Size: 55 cm. Habitat: pelagic, nearshore. Depth: 0-30 m. An Indo-Pacific species; southern California to the tip of Baja, and the coast of Ecuador, the Revillagigedos and Galapagos.
