ENNEANECTES

TRIPLEFINS

Three dorsal fins; normally some soft rays of dorsal branched; anal soft rays 15-20; short, broad cirrus over eye; no teeth on sides of roof of mouth; pelvic fins completely separate; lateral line in 2 straight sections; scales medium to large, 29-36 in longitudinal series; operculum with or without scales.

A neotropical genus with 10 species; 5 endemics occur in our area.
