Silvery, back with brown dots on scale edges; 3 narrow black lines along middle of back; flank - grey stripe with black upper margin; beak black; tail and front rays of dorsal and anal dusky; fins otherwise pale.

Size: 19 cm.

Habitat: coastal pelagic.

Depth: surface, 0-5 m?.
