| Overview |
| This superfamily of parasitic wasps may be the most species rich of any order. It contains an estimated 80,000 - 100,000 species which are classified into two families in the order Hymenoptera. With a few exceptions, they make their living feeding on other insects. Some species are important in controlling host populations and are of ecological and economic importance. |
