Spotcheek blenny

Head broad, snout relatively pointed; top jawbone exposed at side; body relatively slender; moderate to large teeth on front & sides of roof of mouth; total numbers of cirri: nape (heavily branched) 25-28, eye 5 or 8, nostril 4 or 5; dorsal XVIII, 12; anal II, 18; pectoral 14 rays; lateral line scales 55-58; no scales on head or operculum; body scaly except for small area on pectoral base; in lateral line at rear each scale covers the front pore of the scale behind it.

Body light, with irregular mottling; a prominent, black-centered ocellus on upper rear of operculum; fins pale.

Size: 11 cm.

Habitat: tide pools and shallow rocky habitat.

Depth: 1-10 m?.

Ecuador.
