Yellow-green on back, white below; inside operculum dark; iris blackish, pupil whitish, translucent; with broad dark green midlateral stripe; both tips of caudal fin black; anal, pectoral and pelvic fins whitish to yellowish.
Maximum size 13 cm.
Inhabits sandy or muddy shores, also enters brackish and high salinity estuaries.
Depth: 0-10 m?.
Lower Baja and the lower 2/3 of the Gulf of California to Peru.
