Slender, wormlike, body height 5% of standard length; tail notably longer than body and head (61% of total length); 19 body vertebrae, 31 tail vertebrae; head deep, short, 9.4% of standard length; snout 20% of head length; eye tiny, high on side of head, covered with skin; broad between eyes (27% of head length); lower jaw strongly projecting, with angular tip; lips fleshy, with pronounced flanges on sides; snout blunt and square; snout and entire lower jaw with pronounced longitudinal folds ; front nostril a tiny pore in folds near mouth, rear nostril a hole above and before eye; teeth small, even, close-set, 2 irregular rows on jaws, none on roof of mouth; gill opening not tubular, length about equal to pectoral base, oblique; dorsal and anal fins confluent with tail fin; tail fin pointed; dorsal origin over tip of pectoral, 55 elements, origin over tip of pressed-down pectoral; anal 38 rays; pectoral 10 rays relatively long; pelvic I + 3, shorter than pectorals, origin just behind pectoral base; scales small, non-overlapping; body and head scaled except for lower jaws and snout, in oblique rows at bases of dorsal and anal fins; scales with 24 radiating ridges.

Body olive; fins plain, translucent; tail dark brown.

Size: 11 cm.

Habitat: rocky shores.

Depth: 0-10 m?.

Known only from Panama.
