Yellowish to white with large black or dark grey oval spots in a giraffe pattern; chin and throat spotted; dorsal fin without white margin. Size: attains 74 cm. Habitat: rocky and rubble bottoms. Depth: 5-60 m. Southern Baja to the Gulf of California to Peru, and Cocos, the Galapagos, and (possibly) Malpelo. Attributes Abundance: Common. Cites: Not listed.
