Olive brown to bluish on back, silvery on sides and belly; back with dark line, caudal fin slightly yellowish. Size: grows to 23 cm. Inhabits inshore waters over soft bottoms, sometimes entering estuaries. Depth: 0-10 m?. Southern Baja and the SE Gulf of California to northern Peru. Attributes Abundance: Common. Cites: Not listed.
