IDnature guides Ants Philippines Formicidae 1 thumbnail  •  slide show Overview This is a new record of genus for the Philippines. Originally known only from Singapore, there is a specimen in the Museum of Comparative Zoology labeled "Bu. of Sci., PI" and "collected by M. Ramos". M. Ramos is most likely Maximo Ramos, who was a botanical collector for the Bureau of Science from 1904-32. This strongly suggests that this rare species is present in the Philippines.
