Snout blunt; palm-like cirri over eye and on nape; dorsal fin with last element a segmented ray, XXVII-XXVIII, 1, 1st spine short; opercular spine flattened, narrowly to broadly pointed; anal II, 18; pectoral 13; pelvic I, 2; lateral line scales 33; nape scaly; 2 rows of scales on pectoral fin base; no skin flaps on scales.
Body dusky, with 4 bars, last 2 faint; head dusky to mottled, with a row of dark spots along rear edge of preopercle, a dark bar angled down behind eye; a dark spot at rear of dorsal fin; anal fin dark, with clear margin; base of tail fin with a dark bar; pectoral & pelvics irregularly barred on rays.
Size: 2.8 cm.
Habitat: rocky coastal areas.
Depth: 0-10 m?.
Endemic to the Tres Marias Islands, Mexico.
