Overview
Plasmodium pale yellow at maturity. Sporocarpous or plasmodiocarpous, scattered or gregarious to crowded, sessile. Hypothallus conspicuous, membranous, usually continuous beneath a group. Sporothecae subglobose, 0.2-0.8 mm diam., yellowish-, reddish- or purplish- brown. Peridium double, the outer layer cartilaginous, opaque, thickened with granular matter, the inner layer membranous, translucent, pale yellow, smooth. Dehiscence circumscissile, sometimes very inconspicuously so in moist-chamber developments. Capillitium scanty to abundant, occasionally absent, as either scattered, simple, unbranched threads sometimes confined to the lid or varying to a branching lax network of pale yellow threads 1.5-3 µm diam., studded with minute warts, short spines, or closely-set constrictions, rarely nearly smooth. Spore-mass bright golden yellow. Spores pale yellow, verruculose, (11-)12-14(-17) µm diam.
