Body broad, slightly depressed; head moderately slender, depressed, snout shallow and flat; top lip broad, wider at front than sides; a small round fleshy swelling at pectoral base; rear nostril over front edge of eye, front nostril with conspicuous 2-lobed flap; top jaw with a patch of conical teeth, followed by a row of canines behind; 5-6 pairs of round-tipped incisors at front of lower jaw, with patch of small conical teeth behind, followed by row of slightly curved canines; small papillae on lower jaw and extremities of mouth; anus closer to anal origin than sucker; pectoral 16-18 rays, in male lower 4 rays swollen; sucker disc large (24-43% of standard length), without papillae at front and center, 2 rows of papillae across rear; dorsal 9-10 rays; anal 6-7 rays; tail 7-9 rays.

(Preserved fish) Top and sides of head and body, and fin rays light brown; small dark spots along pectoral rays.

Size: 2.3 cm.

Habitat: rocky bottoms.

Depth: 0-5 m?.

Central to southern Mexico.
