Overview
Main identification features Very elongate (<10% of standard length); sucking disc on head small, 9-11 rows of plates; pectoral pointed, 17-21 rays; base of dorsal and anal fins very long, bases 2-3X head length; dorsal 32-28 rays; anal 31-38 rays; tail W shaped margin (central rays filamentous in juvenile).

Upper half bluey black, abruptly white lower half; 3 stripes along flank, blue above, black, silver below; tail black with white upper and lower rear margins.

Size: 76 cm.

Habitat: usually on large fishes or sharks, and turtle.

Depth: 0-100 m?.

A circumtropical species, found throughout our region.
