Overview
Grows and sporulates well in agar cultures on Escherichia coli, Flavobacterium sp., Pseudomonas aeruginosa, P. fluorescens. All cells non-pigmented; stalks 8.5-36.5µ long, 2.5-5 µm broad at base, tapering to 1.5-1.8 µm near apex, gelatinizing quickly in water. Spores are spherical or nearly spherical 10-16 µm in diam. Amoebae with single nucleus, 1 contractile vacuole, and lobose pseudopodia with filose subpseudopodia. Microcysts are uncommon, thin-walled, and 9-18 µm in diam.
