RHINOBATOS

GUITARFISHES

Body shark-like with 2 equal-sized dorsal fins; tail asymmetrical, without lower lobe; snout long, pointed, snout with 2 central cartilaginous ridges; producing a triangular disc; large spiracle behind each eye.

A circumtropical genus, except for central Pacific. About 35 species, with 5 of them endemic in our region.
