- red + 2 rows ~6 pearl blotches - back and belly
Dorsal rays X, 12-13; anal rays III,7-8; pectoral rays 16; lateral-line scales 49-51; body depth 3.6-3.8 in standard length; a small isolated patch of scales on interorbital region.
Mainly red on upper half of head and body, white below; 4-5 pearl-white patches on back and 6-7 reddish bar-like extensions on lower sides; four brownish spots on dorsal fin and adjacent part of back and two smaller brown spots on upper surface of caudal peduncle.
Maximum size 8 cm.
Inhabits sand-rubble areas.
Depth: 5-20 m.
Known thus far only from Socorro Island in the Revillagigedos Group.
