This beautiful black species from Mexico was previously known
from eleven males and three females (LaBerge, 1956, 1958). Three
additional males have been examined. One of these three males differs
from other males of this species in that it lacks the white hairs on
the pronotum from which the species takes its name. All other char
acters of this single specimen concur with the other specimens and the lack of pale pronotal hairs is attributed to individual variation.
The three new records are from specimens belonging to the Univer
sity of California at Berkeley and the University of Nebraska at
Lincoln. They are as follows: JALISCO: 16* from 22 miles north
west of La Piedad, July 22, 1954, J. W. MacSwain. OAXACA: IS S
from 20 miles east of El Camaron, July 21, 1956, D. D. Linsdale and
J. W. MacSwain.
