Dark brown, body with 4 or less relatively wide dark cross bars; tail region much darker than front of body; dorsal and anal fins uniform, darker towards rear; blind side white; lining of gut cavity black, visible through skin. Size: to 15 cm. Inhabits flat sandy bottoms. Depth: 10-115 m. Gulf of California to Colombia. Attributes Abundance: Common. Cites: Not listed.
