Male.Black; small joints of tarsi ferruginous; tibial spurs testaceous. Labrum and clypeus yellow; clypeal mark almost reaching margin of eyes and strongly, almost rectangularly, notched on each side. Tegulae dark amber. Wings smoky hyaline, nervures dark. Pubescence pale ochre-ous, and whitish on face, underparts, legs, and abdomen. Hair on inner side of hind basitarsi ferruginous. Hair of tergite 1 long, erect, and moderately dense; hair of tergite 2 mostly white, that on basal half short, erect, mosslike, with appressed feathered hairs on basal half of apical depression and simple black hair beyond. Tergites 3 to 6 with black hair at base, and with white apical bands of appressed feathered hair, that on tergite 3 broadened in middle. Hair of tergite 7 brown. Hair of venter mostly white, but brown at middle of sternites 4 and 5.
Head much broader than long; inner orbits of eyes slightly diverging above. Vertex slightly impressed on each side. Lateral ocelli about their diameter from occipital margin and their distance apart from nearest eye. Antennae reaching to tergite 3, flagellum moderately slender and compressed; joint 3 on long side nearly one-third as long as 4. Second submarginal cell receiving recurrent nervure about one-third of its length from apex. Clypeus with close, shallow punctures, and a few smooth, narrow ridges between punctures. Mesoscutum moderately shinŽing and with dense, shallow punctures, becoming slightly separated on posterior middle of disk. Abdomen minutely, densely punctate, with apical half of the apical depression of tergites bare and impunctate. Sternite 6 with a broad, smooth oblique impression on each side, terŽminating in slight rounded bulge in margin, the boundary ridge within distinct and almost rectangularly elbowed; submarginal hair on each side of apical margin moderately long, dense, and pale, and the hair at base of disk very short and dense. Sternites 7 and 8 as figured. Parameral lobes of genital armature broader than usual, constricted to about half apical width at middle, apex truncate and more broadened on inner margin than outer; outer face of lobes with moderately long yellow hair on basal two-thirds. Length about 12 mm, anterior wing 8 mm, width of abdomen 3.9 mm.
