To Save the Environment

Why do it?
Self-preservation
a) preservation of culture and progress
b) preservation of species 
	     i) we depend on diversity in wildlife
c) preservation of raising families 
	     i) we want to share the environment with our children

Are we selfish in trying to save the environment?
a) selfishness drives us to destroy the earth
b) selfishness will similarly compel us toward self-preservation
c) our selfishness has it's origins in evolution
d) our selfishness may depend on our particular cultures

		Does motivation matter in saving the environment?
		a) if given the choice, why would we exercise moderation if we didn't have to?
		b) problems are solved most effectively when motivations are consistent and 'good'
		c) to choose to save the environment before actually being compelled is better
this minimizes suffering
it preserves our ability to choose

How to do it?	
	1)   educate about the environment 
		a) teach about environmental services
	2)   train "global citizens" and develop an earthly identity
