Site Description:

Fowler Drive Elementary is a school situated within a local neighborhood. There is a "public park" situated around the school, but it is more or less a school playground for neighborhood kids. Because of the frequency with which kids use the "park," there is little more than grass and dry red dirt on much of the school grounds. The perennials located here were obviously planted to appeal to the eye. The surrounding area,, however is full of dense vegetation, indicating that the area was all forest not too long ago.

Along the back perimeter of the school there is a noticeable increase in vegetation. It begins in some areas with herbs and leads farther back to the wood y perennials. There is no local irrigation to speak of in the area. The vegetation is most likely nurtured by rain. much of the on the western side of the school, there is noticeable loss of vegetation. The ground has eroded quite severely. For the most part the site is mostly flat with a few bumps here and there. Perhaps one oddly noticeable thing about the school is that it has grass growing on top of it. Whether or not this was intentional still remains a mystery.
