Athens-Clarke County Library

The Athens-Clarke County Library offers an array of services.  They have an online catalog to keep track of all the information available at the library.  This online catalog can be accessed from a home/office computer.  Computer stations are also available at the library.  Some of the other services the library offers are:

• Professionally trained librarians to help with research questions
• Information and referral services
• Library tours
• Audiovisual equipment
• Computers that provide internet access

The University of Georgia library systems provide many services that can be accessed by the public.  At the main library, there are 53 computer workstations that allow access to Libra, Galileo, Galin, and the Web.  In addition, at the science library there are 24 more workstations available with the same capabilities.  The list below describes the uses of Libra, Galin, and Galileo.

• Libra- searches journal indexes and other info
• Galin- reference for the library catalog and a few other databases
• Galileo- reference for libraries statewide
