occurrenceRemarksLocally common at northern end of beach. Associated with sparse plants of Atriplex hollowayi. This is the plant usually known in New Zealand as S. kali (and so treated as naturalised). However, our plants don't look like S. kali in the northern hemisphere and may in fact be one of the Australian species (possibly S. australis - Bob Chinnock pers. comm.), and further they may be indigenous. This matter needs looking into
