Bombus rufocinctus (Apidae) in the Colorado Rockies. South Divide at 9300 ft (N38° 54.857', W105° 9.641'), Teller County, Colorado, USA. June 20, 2006. Center of 2thx and of T1T2 hairless black or nearly so in this color phase. Size: L = 22 mm. This queen was found on Thermopsis divaricarpa - L.W.Macior (1974) found B. rufocinctus at elevations of 1830-3970 m (5500-12000 ft). P.A.Byron found it at elevations of 5000-7500 ft. B.rufocinctus is highly variable and most confusing.
