| Epeolus americanus (Apidae) in the Colorado Rockies. Florissant, Crystal Peak area, Cockerell's Topaz Butte, at 9000 ft, Teller County, Colorado. June 15, 2006. Size: L = 7 mm. Found on Potentilla fruticosa - Shrub Cinquefoil. Epeolus is one of the cuckoo bees. Black; 5 abd bands, on T1 top-cut, on T2 widely interrupted, on T3T4T5 top-notched. Epeolus americanus is the only Epeolus species with two submarginal cells according to Cockerell.
