A 1902 publication on the granite resources of Georgia reported the quarries on the north side of Arabia Mountain were operated by W.R. Watson and L.G. Brantley. It did not say when the operation ended. Plug-and-feathers were used to make the curb stones. They quarried huge blocks with this method.
