The Chickasaw plum blooms very early and the flowers are often killed by late winter freezes in the Piedmont area of Georgia. The fruit when produced are tasty. This plum grows in thickets and has large spines on the limbs. For more information: plants.usda.gov/java/profile?symbol=PRAN3
