| This area burned as part of the Big Turnaround Fire, April 18, 2007. There is plenty of regrowth in the shrubs and ferns. 191,474 acres burned in that fire. The number of acres that burned in the Okefenokee Swamp from April 16, 2007 to September 9, 2007 was 563,119.
