These are mating royal walnut moths. For more information: www.butterfliesandmoths.org/species?l=3334

I was traveling for work yesterday and got a call about mid-day that these moths were mating in a friends back yard. They stayed in the same place all day. I arrived around 2030 EDT and they were still in the process. Wow, moth sex last a long time. It was dark enough that I had to add some fill flash.
