Ghost orchids are rare leafless epiphytes that often occur on pop ash trees (Fraxinus caroliniana) in the swamps of southwest Florida. I have seen plants many times but never in bloom. My friend Keith Bradley took us into a fantastic swamp to see the orchids in bloom. Water levels were high and mosquitoes fairly bad but we were well rewarded. For more information:
