The dam to the reservoir on top of Raccoon Mountain is built on John McNabb Branch. I suspect the water going over the falls is leakage through that dam. It really needs more water for a good image.

I was downstream of Laurel Fall photographing the lower falls when I heard a major fall of something. I thought it was rock. I finally caught up with Brian Killingbeck and he told me there was a large ice fall.

While I was in this photo position a large ice fall occurred above me and I had to do some skillful dodging. I was perched over a 30 feet drop-off so it was interesting.

To the best of my knowledge, there is no trail to the base of this falls. It is a moderate to difficult traverse from the bottom of the mountain.
